Platform
NBG Arena is Nigeria's competitive knowledge league. Players compete in fast-paced STEM quiz matches and climb national rankings based on skill — not how many hours they play.
Each match has 10 questions with 5 seconds per question. One question per screen — no scrolling, no going back. Answer correctly to earn points and improve your rating.
Your NBG Rating reflects performance quality using an Elo-style system. Strong matches increase your rating; weak ones decrease it. Playing thousands of mediocre games won't beat someone with consistently excellent performance.
Season 1 is built around STEM, plus General Reasoning, Social Studies, Current Affairs, and Law in ranked and daily matches. Difficulty ramps from bronze to champion as you progress through each 10-question set. Future seasons may spotlight single categories like a dedicated Law season with its own finals.
Account & setup
Click Join Arena on the homepage, fill in your full name, username, email, date of birth, and password, then verify your email. Your date of birth places you in an age bracket (Junior 13–17, Youth 18–24, Senior 25–34, Masters 35+) for fair leaderboards. Once verified, you can play ranked matches, enter the daily challenge, and appear on leaderboards. Add your state and institution in your profile for regional rankings.
Email verification protects the integrity of ranked competition and ensures one person per account. You can use Practice mode before verifying, but ranked matches, daily challenges, and tournament entry require a verified email.
Yes. From the Arena, open Profile to update your full name, state, institution, profession, and avatar. If you registered before age brackets launched, add your date of birth once there to unlock ranked play. Your state determines state rankings; your institution appears on school and university leaderboards.
We use four brackets: Junior (13–17), Youth (18–24), Senior (25–34), and Masters (35+). Your bracket is calculated from your date of birth and updates automatically when you age into the next tier. Public leaderboards show your bracket label only — never your full birth date. Ranked and daily games record your bracket at match start for fair competition history.
No. Date of birth is locked after your first save to protect bracket integrity. If you made a mistake during registration, contact support before playing ranked matches.

Seasons, prizes & finals
Absolutely. Every new season is a fresh opportunity. Your past season results stay in history and the Hall of Fame, but each season has its own leaderboard, finals, and prize pool. Come back for STEM, Law, Current Affairs, and every category we launch.
Prizes are awarded in each category season — for example STEM Season 1, then Law Season 2, and so on. Top 10 nationally or top 3 in your age bracket qualify for live finals (minimum 10 ranked games). Bracket finalists compete for age-bracket crowns; national qualifiers join the grand championship broadcast.
Each season crowns both a Grand Champion (national #1 after live finals) and Bracket Champions in Junior, Youth, Senior, and Masters. You can qualify through your age bracket even if you are outside the national top 10 — and vice versa. Bracket winners are permanently listed in the Hall of Fame under their bracket.
Live finals use our broadcast Hot Seat stage — streamed on YouTube and TikTok. We keep asking questions until we have a winner. There is no fixed number of rounds: the contest continues with as many questions as needed, and difficulty increases as players progress, just like a championship showdown.
Yes. As finalists advance, question complexity grows — from bronze through silver, gold, platinum, and champion tier. The deeper you go, the sharper the challenge. Only the best prepared minds reach the Hot Seat.
Pricing
Yes! NBG Arena is free to join and compete in ranked seasons. Premium practice features may come later — but nothing that gives a ranked competitive advantage. Real prizes are won through skill in each season's category finals.
